Cinema has long been the opium for the masses. And for this medium to have had its effect, it always needed an agent i.e. an artist. Every time our beloved artist steps onto the screen a bond is instantly created and we find ourselves busily indulging in a blast of vicarious thrill. Though we try to marry logic over the unreal nature of a film, thanks to these multi talented artists, we are somehow drawn into this parallel universe called cinema. Owing to their brilliant portrayals we are immersed in a space that constantly serves our senses.

We have seen them stride on the screen with élan that only few could manage .We danced to their tunes and chuckled to their gimmicks. Our drawing room blabber has always been well composed of their histrionics and impacting mannerisms. For some they are entertainers and for others they are imaginary soul mates. And for some inexplicable reason or the other, we all have carved a special place for them in our hearts. Years passed by, yet they manage to break us into a smile by entering our lives in times we least expect.

As time passed by these artists were replaced by the newer ones. Though we questioned their absence, we never really knew what happened to them. Can we stop being gutless and actually do something about it.

It is said that life beyond cinema has become a scar ridden reality for them. Industry rumor mills are abuzz with their sorrow stricken stories .Every artist has a sorrow tale of his/her own.

For whom thundering ambience was a second home and a heartening audience a common sight, life has taken a vicious turn. Those serenading whistles have given way to rotting silence. These renowned artists who once grazed the hall of fame with pride and dignity are now leading dingy lives in deplorable conditions. Their plight is unseen and their miseries are unheard. Their potential which was once highly lauded has no takers now. They lay in deplorable conditions seeking help from arms that once flung high to their arrival on screen. So what would you do to someone who has glittered your past with glorious memories and tender moments. Can you return back the favor by doing your duty?
