Top director Puri Jagannath’s father passed away few hours ago at Apollo Hospitals, Vishakapatnam. He was suffering with cancer for over a period of time and has been under medical aid since few weeks until he breathed his last.
Puri Jagannath who was in Bangkok when he got the news about his father’s illness flew back to Vishakapatnam and is with him during his last hours of life.
Puri Jagannath said in many interviews that it was his father who recognized the potential in him and encouraged him to take up this profession. He gave twenty thousand rupees and told Puri to go pursue his career in film industry.
